24 Hour Call Centre

The call centre operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

FMS provides repatriation and funeral support services to millions of people nationally.
We are experts in the field of body repatriation and pioneered this service over 20 years ago.
FMS will also provide assistance and advice on claims procedures, management of necessary documentation, obtaining a death certificate and cross-border (repatriation) documentation, as well as referral to a pathologist if required.

We pride ourselves in supporting our clients throughout the process until the deceased family member is delivered to a funeral home closest to the place of burial.

Repatriation Vehicles
FMS own a fleet of Mercedes Benz Sprinters that are customised for the transportation of deceased bodies. These vehicles are refrigerated and have a passenger section to ensure that any accompanying family member is both comfortable and safe during the repatriation trip.
All of our vehicles are fully refrigerated and fitted with satellite tracking and DriveCam.

Our call centre operates 24 hours a day in all official South African languages.

FMS will also provide assistance and advice on claims procedures, management of necessary documentation, obtaining a death certificate and cross-border (repatriation) documentation, as well as referral to a pathologist if required.
Repatriation
We provide 3 main types of repatriation.

Repat RSA

Transportation of mortal remains from the place of death in Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe or Mozambique (south of the 22 degree parallel) to the place of burial within South Africa.

Repat International

Transportation of the deceased person from anywhere in the world to the place of burial within South Africa.

3
Repat Cross Border

Transportation of the deceased from the place in South Africa to the place of burial within Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe or Mozambique (south of the 22 degree parallel).

Emergency Medical Support

FMS provides telephonic emergency medical advice pending the arrival of a medical team, arrangements for medical attention at the scene, and transfer to the closest and most appropriate hospital. The benefit also includes the transfer of life-saving medication/blood if unavailable.

Funeral Support & Repatriation

FMS will transport the deceased mortal remains to the funeral home along with a relative. We take care to meet special needs or cultural preferences regarding the transportation of the deceased person. FMS will also provide assistance and advice on claims procedures, management of necessary documentation, obtaining a death certificate and cross-border (repatriation) documentation, as well as referral to a pathologist if required.

Health Support

Give your customers, members or employees access to trained, professional, telephonic advice that will deal with any health query, 24 hours a day. The benefits include the Audio Health Library, access to health advisors and advice, counselling on diseases, stress management techniques, assistance on coping with addictions such as drugs, alcohol and other substances, explained medical terms, results of tests and information relating to medication.

HIV Protection Treatment

This benefit from FMS includes telephonic trauma and post-traumatic stress disorder counselling, three psychiatric consultations per incident where a member was at risk of HIV infection, three HIV blood tests per incident- one immediately following the event, the second after six weeks and the third after three months unless the member is HIV positive at the time of the first blood test. Certain anti-retrovirals, medications, and the morning after pill will be available if required as well as 24 hour telephonic access to our HIV counselling centre.

Legal Support

Telephonic legal advice on any legal matter, 24 hours a day. If required, a 30 minute face to face consultation is also available. Drafting of various agreements and legal documents e.g. wills, employment contracts.

Trauma & Assault Support

If you experience a traumatic event, know that there is a caring voice just a phone call away.

This benefit includes 24 hour telephonic trauma counselling, RS 000 cover per eligible person (max R10 000 per family per occurrence) for medical treatment relating to a trauma, as well as R5 000 cover per eligible person (max R10 000 per family per occurrence) for face-to-face counselling.

Disability Aids & Vehicle Conversions

FMS offer discounts on certain disability aids and vehicle conversion Examples of Disability Aids include wheelchairs, walking aids, commodes, bathing and toiletry, and prosthetics.

Education (Dial-a-Teacher)

A telephonic educational service to scholars through access to a dedicated team of experienced and qualified teachers, who are ready to take calls related to homework problems on any subject from Grades 1 -12 and in English and Afrikaans.

Education Assist Service

This benefit is offered through an online platform with a back-up team who handle enquiries via a ticketing system. Textbook summaries are available for all government, private and home-schooling textbooks. We supply explanations, practice test papers and memos for languages and mathematics.

Grocery Benefit

FMS will facilitate the sourcing, distribution, support and administration of shopping vouchers to members claiming from clients. These vouchers are sent directly to the member via SMS. The voucher is incredibly helpful for those every day needs as well as assisting with extra purchases during the bereavement phase when family and friends visit.

Home Assistance

The customisable Home Assistance Service is a 24 hour helpline that your members can consult for referrals regarding emergency household repairs, anywhere in South Africa. This service includes assistance with electrical problems, plumbing, locksmiths, glazing and appliances such as fridges, freezers, stoves, and washing machines.

Roadside Assistance

The Roadside Assistance service provides three options to your clients ranging from advice to a fully comprehensive roadside assistance and recovery program. The service is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and can be structured to your requirements.

Take Me Home

Enjoy a night out and know that you have peace of mind to arrive home safely after. A designated driver will drive you and your car home. This benefit is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
